The fastest man in the world title was given to a Black man…..Usain Bolt!

bicycle

Instead of taking a bike or a car, this man decided to run
and he ran this race and took over!!!

A black man is the fastest man on earth. In the words of Alicia Keys
song Unbreakable,” Clap your hands everybody, um, clap your hands..
Well black people are known for doing the best in everything. This internet
could never be thorough enough to explain it…Charisma, talent, beauty,
soul, spirit, giving, intelligence, inventions, black people are the best
in all areas no matter how good others are in areas. They say everybody
has talent but black people take it to the extreme.

Jamaica’s Usain Bolt is the speediest man in the world. He has
won the men’s Olympic 100 meters with such power. He went
even further than his former record of 9.72 seconds. He finished
the race in only 9.69 seconds, which is a new world record
he has set. Some Trinidadian gentleman named Richard Thompson
got 2nd place and won silver medal. He finished the race in 9.89 seconds.

American Walter Dix went home with bronze medal for 9.91 seconds.
This gentleman from Jamaica is quoted as saying” I came here to prove
I’m the best. I could even be 9.60.” His name and his high level
of achieving in running has deemed him worthy of the media nickname
“Lightning Bolt”. And in the words of Muhammad Ali, Fly like a butterfly,
sting like a bee. We know how that applies to this man’s speedy race.

Puma is the sponsor company. After he won the 200 meters race in
World Junior Championships in Jamaica in 2002, Puma signed Bolt.
To advertise Bolt’s chances for 100 meters race in Summer Olympics
in Beijing, China, Puma has released a collection of videos showing
off Bolt’s world record setting run in the Reebok Grand Prix to his
preparations for the Olympics. Even during the Beijing 2008 100
meters final, Bolt display his golden Puma spikes that read
Beijing 100 meters Gold.

Oh yes people, I probably should have kept running. I did run a lot
when I was a kid. I never got into racing, but when I was a kid
mom said I was the fastest runner on my block. And doesn’t
running give people a rush? It’s great excercise, pumps
that heart, challenges you. What more could you want?

Meredith Gourdine-Black Athlete Who Was Awarded a Silver Medal

Hmm….Well rounded, multi-talented…. He does what

he does and does it well!

Meredith Gourdine excelled in academics, atheletics, track and

field, as well as swimming. (Wonderful to see someone who can balance

both academics and schooling. Some people can only do one. But its

really really great if you can do both.)

                  Gourdine competed in sprints, hurdles,

and long jumps. He finished second place  at the 1952 NCA Track

and Field Championship. Meredith was chosen to

represent the United States at the 1952 Summer Olympics

Games in Helsinki, Finland. He was awarded a silver medal

in the long jump competition.

Meredith received a Bachelor’s Degree in

Engineering Physics in 1953. Gourdine got a loan of

$200,000,000 (look at the zeros go)  from family and friends and opened

Gourdine Laboratories(sounds so good), which is a research laboratory

located in Livingston, New Jersey and at its height he

employed 150 people.

Some people can say that they have a great career

and have that be true. But not everyone gets their own

laboratories. But I’m so glad this man did!

Gourdine had research in the field of electrogasdynamics.

and electrogasdynamics is the generation of energy from

the motion of ionized gas molecules under high pressure.

Meredith Gourdine was inducted into the Engineering

and Science Hall of Fame in 1994.

I wonder how much training people do in the Olympics.

But I guess everybody’s training time might be different.
That reminds me of this wonderful young and
vibrant star by the name of Vonetta Flowers!
Vonetta Flowers is into the bobsledding sport.
She is a 32 year old resident from Helena, Alabama.
One of her career highlights is that she has the 2006
Torino Olympics Gold Medalist at 2002 Salt Lake
Olympics. Flowers is the first black athlete to win
a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Vonetta, the former track star sprints, hurdles and does
long jumps. But at 26 turned to bobsledding.(
See how you can start off in one area and do
another? It’s great that she’s got that versatile
talent.)  In Torino, she came in 6th place in the
women’s boblsled event with teammate Jean Prahm.
After making her mark in history, she wrote her own
book called “Running on Ice: The Overcoming Faith of
Vonetta Flowers. Flowers was chosen  as one of
Essence Magazine’s 50 Most Inspiring African-Americans.

Jesse Owens, a Black man- Olympic Gold Medalist

Jesse Owens, a Black man- Olympic Gold Medalist

Jesse Owens - Olympic Gold Medalist

African AMerican Jesse Owens was born September

12, 1913. He was an African-American sprinter with a history
of being one of the greatest track-and-field athletes of all
time. His exact name is James Cleveland Owens and he
was born in Danville, Alabama. Also, he was educated
in Ohio State University (which explains what his Ohio shirt
represents on the website)
Olympic Track Numbers:
Owens competed in interscholastic track meets
in high school. James excelled in the running broad
jump, the 100-yd dash as well as  the 220-yd dash.
He was a member of the Ohio State University
track squad in 1935 and established a world record
of 26ft 8, in for the running broad jump. Come 1936,
he set a new world record of 10.2 sec
for the 100-m dash.
A member of the U.S track team in 1936 Olympic
Games in Berlin,he won 4 gold medals.
Owens won the 100-m dash in 10.3 seconds
which is the Olympic record.
Then he set a new Olympic and world record of 20.7 sec
in the 200-m dash. To top that off, he won
the running broad jump with a leap of
26ft 5-in. That put him at a new Olympic record.
( Its great that he brung so much energy and effort
into Olympics. I admire the way he kept setting new records.)
It keeps going, he was also a member of the
U.S. 400-m relay team that year, which an
even newer Olympic and world record of 39.8 sec.
          Despite of James’ wonderful athletic
performances, Adolf Hitler refused to recognize
his Olympic victories because Owens
was black.
My comments: Even though Adolf Hitler (racist fool)
did not want to acknowledge his acheivements, it was as if James
ran over, squashed, flattened out his theories. Adolf Hitler, must have
been hurt to find out about James being so skilled but so
what. Hitler is in denial, but nothing changes the truth-
Jesse Owens is one of the best in Olympics.
