Alpha Phi Alpha founded in honor of black people

                     Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

December 4th 1906 was when the Alpha Phi Alpha was founded.

It is the first intercollegiate Greek letter fraternity founded

for black people.  They were   established at Cornell University

in IThaca, New York by 7 college men who desired brotherhood

bonding among African descendants.

                     The men who put this into existence are:

Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones,

George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle,

and Vertner Woodson Tandy. They are a social group AGAINST

racial prejudice of black people.
